Profile - Minka Nevalainen

I am one of the members of the Digiteam website team aka web team. I graduated in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and, with a slight twist, I officially started working at Digiteam in 2022.

What do I enjoy most about my job?

I like the varied and diverse projects I get to be involved in at Digiteam. No two projects are the same, and each project allows you to learn something new and develop professionally. I also enjoy seeing the finished product and a satisfied client.

What do I do in my spare time?

Outside of work, life revolves a lot around our two dogs, Tessa and Havu. On weekdays we go for a lot of jogging, sometimes we try out different hobbies and with Havu we also meet our dog friends regularly. Other hobbies include a wide variety of crafts, art and nerdery.

What's the best thing about Digiteam?

I really appreciate Digiteam's low hierarchy, where there is room for everyone's views, and a close-knit team where everyone works well together. At Digiteam, skills are valued and given really good opportunities to develop. I also really like the opportunity to work remotely; I can work in the peace and quiet of my own home at my own pace.

Your area of expertise?

In web development, I am particularly interested in accessibility. I'm interested in how to develop the web in a way that serves as many people as possible. However, there is a lot to learn about this topic and I wouldn't call myself an accessibility expert 🙂
