Case Esperi Care Oy:
Agile partnership brought Esper's website redesign to the finish line smoothly and on time

Esperi Care Oy is a company specialising in residential care services, offering cosy care homes for the elderly, customers of disability services and people with mental health and substance abuse problems throughout Finland.

In 2023, a comprehensive website redesign had become necessary for three different websites within the Esperi Group, and the company wanted to update the Esperi Care, Esperi Rehabilitation and Saga Care websites to better serve external and internal stakeholders.

Esperi chose Digiteam, a company known for its expertise and versatility in online business, as a partner for the redesign of all three websites.

  • "We were already familiar with Digiteam from some of our previous contacts, which had built our confidence in their expertise. We knew they would do a good job on the websites, so we chose them to carry out all three website redesigns."

Esper Marketing Manager Nina Singh and Digiteam Senior Web Developer Harri Kivi will now tell you more about the progress and results of the Esperi Care website project.

Customer value at the heart of web development

Customer-centric thinking is at the heart of Digiteam, so the project started with a thorough mapping of both Esperi's operational characteristics and the needs and wishes of the site's users and staff.

On this basis, Esper was informed about the different technical solutions, their advantages and potential challenges. This enabled the customer to choose the solutions that worked best for their business and to focus resources on the activities that would add the most value in the future.

  • "I really appreciated Digiteam's agility and easy communication during the project. When I told them about a particular need, I could get, for example, four possible solutions and ideas about their suitability. They gave us some good ideas for new functionality on the site, which now saves us time and effort."

Aiming for an excellent website user experience and smooth updates

Serving Esperi Care's nearly 200 care and nursing home units and thousands of residents and employees creates significant needs for the website to be clear and manageable for different users.

However, Esper's previous website and Drupal publishing system had proved cumbersome, and there was little room for in-house staff to make updates.

Growing business and active online communication thus needed to be supported by digital systems that acted as an engine of growth, not a brake.

A website layout that reflects brand identity

Another important objective of the website project was to create a visual identity that reflects Esper's human and people-oriented corporate culture.

The company had also recently undergone a rebranding, and Digiteam's experts designed a new and warm look for the site.

The content for the new site came ready-made from Esper. However, Digiteam was involved in the content sparring, which together ensured that key issues from the perspective of search engine optimisation and modern web design were taken into account.

  • "The starting point for the website redesign was a modern look and feel, better usability and easy updating. To achieve this, a modular site structure was built to facilitate updating. There were now many more possibilities for creating new content and the pages could be built into interesting content packages. "

Technical integrations seal the deal - project on time and on target

As part of the project, Digiteam was also responsible for the technical integrations of the website. In this way, Esper's software architecture continues to function ideally, and information flows smoothly between functions through the interfaces created.

Singh also praises Digiteam for its flexibility. Although the pre-project phases of the site were completed a little later than expected, Digiteam was able to catch up during the construction phase of the site.

The new website was launched exactly as originally planned.

The strong cooperation between Esper and Digiteam did not end with the completion of the site. After the launch, Digiteam will be responsible for the maintenance and further development of the site as Esper's technical partner.

Comprehensive benefits from website reform

Since its launch, Esper's new website has received very good feedback from both staff and external stakeholders. They have also helped to streamline various tasks and processes related to the website.

From Esper's perspective, the most tangible benefits of the new website include.

  1.  The user-friendly website allows website visitors to identify suitable care homes and contact them quickly and easily
  2. New website works great on mobile
  3. The website can be updated flexibly, either from the marketing department or from the housing units - with ready-made customised blocks to keep the look and feel consistent at all times.

Conversions grew rapidly

The website reform has also quickly delivered tangible results. Site analytics show that conversions through the form have clearly increased since the redesign.

This is a very positive signal of the success of the reform, as these conversions are essential for Esper's business.

  • "Our group has now implemented three different websites with Digiteam and our experience has been very positive. Throughout the project we knew where the process was going and who we could contact. Digiteam also managed to meet the fast pace of the project and the site was completed within the agreed timeframe.

I can highly recommend Digiteam as a website partner - we have got exactly what we were promised."

  • "You've done a great job for us with a big website redesign. Highly recommend"
